Test carbon customised frame: Scappa Il Corriero 2015
Scappa was founded in 2010 by Austrian Gernot Müller, who was previously responsible for the Kuota brand. All models are offered with customisation options and the frames are built in Rossano Veneto in Italy.

The focus is on carbon, but steel and titanium models are also in the programme. The Il Corriero, an aero model, initially surprises with its low weight. However, the bike is not very stable - even light riders reach the limits of their comfort zone at high speeds; heavier riders are likely to have problems with this. The components - apart from the groupset and tyres, which are all own-brand - make a good impression; the frame and components come with a lifetime warranty and a crash replacement policy.

Conclusion Aero frame, relatively light and comfortable, not very stable. Lifetime warranty and generous crash replacement.
