Test carbon customised frame: Calfee Dragonfly 2015
Craig Calfee from California has been building carbon frames since 1989, making him a pioneer in the scene. The Dragonfly frame has also been a classic since 2001 and is constantly being improved.

Very slim tubes and the eye-catching lugs with stiffening ribs make it unmistakable; it is finished with great attention to detail and immaculately painted. Technically, it can't quite keep up with modern designs, but the frame and fork stiffness are still okay for light riders. For heavy, athletic riders, however, the more modern Manta model with much larger tubes is certainly the better choice. In addition to the huge range of sizes and the 25-year warranty, the many options are a selling point: From more tyre clearance to S&S clutches so that the frame can be dismantled, Calfee does it all - for an extra charge.

Conclusion Very unique frame, great workmanship. Lots of sizes, but not for heavy pilots. 25-year guarantee.
