Tom Ritchey himself enjoys an excellent reputation as a frame builder. However, he has the frame of the Road Logic with its lovingly crafted retro paintwork welded in Taiwan. Nevertheless, the model, which is available as a set with fork for a fair €1,199, bears the unmistakable signature of the mountain bike pioneer, recognisable by the brand logos stamped into the dropouts or the unconventional head tube. The bearing seats sit on the outside of the tube ends, leaving space for a 1-1/8-inch carbon fork, although the diameter is the same as for frames with one-inch forks. A trick that saves a good 400 grams of weight compared to a steel fork. Riding stability is on a par with frames made from Columbus' legendary SLX tubes - below average by today's standards, but no reason to panic. After all, generations of racers have been happy with such models. With the exception of Campa's Chorus groupset, all the equipment comes from Ritchey. Right down to the handlebar tape, tyres and quick-releases, all parts bear the brand logo, which rounds off the coherent impression.
