Radon R1 9.0 SL
Inexpensive mail-order bike with good values - except for the weight. For cyclists who like to sit like racers.

The latest addition to Radon's "R1" series is a success. The Radon achieved good to very good marks in the categories of riding stability, lateral stiffness of the fork, power transmission and frame comfort. If you take into account that the paint finish weighs 200 grams more than the anodised version, the weight rating would have easily reached the level of Cube or Principia. The "Press-Fit" bottom bracket, in which the bearings are mounted directly without shells, saves a few grams. Unfortunately, the fork is very stiff, which cancels out the good comfort of the frame. In practice, the Radon convinces with directional stability in every riding situation, the geometry is designed for racers. The rear triangle catches the eye with its boxy, inwardly curved chainstays in contrast to the slim seat stays.

ConclusionInexpensive mail-order bike with good values - except for the weight. For cyclists who like to sit like racers.
