The De Rosa Corum is a Sunday racer that also appreciates the sporty pace: timeless, dignified, manoeuvrable.

When the Corum was launched in 1999, it was regarded as a modern steel frame. At the time, the tubes were comparatively voluminous for the material and the frame was very stable by the standards of the time. The fact that it was welded instead of soldered in sockets allowed freedom in the choice of geometry while at the same time saving weight. Today, the model itself is a classic without being outdated. Thanks to the slightly sloping top tube, the silhouette still looks contemporary. A tribute to contemporary taste is the lower headset bearing, which has been removed from the head tube and allows an elegant connection to the remarkably well-sprung carbon fork. Its lateral compliance is largely compensated for by the stiff frame. With Campa's Chorus groupset and Bora high-profile wheels, the test bike weighs an attractive 7.2 kilos. Apart from the higher weight, there is no noticeable difference in riding characteristics compared to modern bikes. The carbon seat post with its unconventional diameter of 29.4 millimetres offers acceptable suspension, while Vittoria tubular tyres roll smoothly.
