ProEnzym, a product developed for athletes, contains enzymes from pineapple and papaya. These act as biocatalysts, i.e. they accelerate certain metabolic processes, such as the breakdown of proteins.
As a result, inflammation and swelling can subside more quickly or have less of an impact. The enzymes are also said to strengthen the immune system. ProEnzym also contains rutin, which is said to strengthen the vascular walls and thus prevent fluid from accumulating in the tissue, especially in the legs. The self-test with a cold showed that the inflammation of the throat and bronchial tubes could apparently be contained somewhat more quickly than usual. However, larger quantities of the product are required (daily dose of six tablets), and then it quickly becomes quite expensive.
