"200 different types of sugar occur in nature, but only two of them are found in today's diet," explains Andreas Blessing, Sales Director at Mannatech. "However, eight types of sugar are necessary for cells to communicate with each other properly. A lack of communication leads to impaired function, which is noticeable in performance, regeneration and a weakened immune system," says Blessing, emphasising the importance of these sugars.
Glycobiology originated in 1988, and the importance of sugar chains has become increasingly clear thanks to an improved understanding of cell and molecular biology. According to this, the sugar chains called glycoproteins are required for the correct recognition and function of every cell. They attach themselves to cell surfaces and support the body's cell-to-cell communication.
Mannatech has implemented these findings from glycobiology in its "Ambrotose" and "Sport" products, among others. "This is the only way for the body's systems to function optimally, which results in faster regeneration and increased resilience," says Blessing.
Mannatech products consist exclusively of natural substances and are on the Cologne List, which lists all products that comply with the German anti-doping guidelines.
