Interval training via GPS computer - that's the promise of the new Wahoo update, which is designed to enable synchronisation with online training platforms.

Wahoo calls the new function of the fitness app for the Elemnt and Elemnt Bold devices "Planned Workouts". This should make it possible to transfer training content from the online platforms "TrainingPeaks" and "Today's Plan" to the bike computer via the app. The workouts would be displayed there in detail. Even a signal for the start and end of various intervals can be set. The result: training can be controlled just as effectively and precisely as with training programmes on the roller - depending on the route and traffic situation. In such cases, the training programme can be paused simply by pressing a button.

A small drawback: "Planned Workouts" is currently only suitable for the two platforms mentioned, "TrainingPeaks" and "Today's Plan"; other training programmes cannot be synchronised. However, riders who do not have a "TrainingPeaks" or "Today's Plan" account can access a series of Wahoo's own training sessions loaded onto the ELEMNT. These include two FTP tests and three interval training sessions taken from the repertoire of the professional Sky team.

Detailed step-by-step instructions on how to use the function can be found on the Wahoo support page.
