The global online fitness platform Zwift is unlocking the roads of Urukazi, the latest addition to the Makuri Islands. Among other things, fast gravel roads on the coast and island hopping await hard-working indoor cyclists. TOUR shows the eight new routes on Zwift.

Urukazi is the name of the new island landscape on Zwift, which TOUR launched in September along with other new functions and features. has mentioned. The Zwift world of Makuri-Islands was last expanded in November 2021 by Neokyo extended. With Urukazi, there are now a total of over 40 miles, or around 65 kilometres, of Zwift's island world to explore. From the neon-lit town of Neokyo, you can head to the countryside and the coast.

Urukazi (pronounced: woo-roo-kah-zi)

The name Urukazi combines two Okinawan words: "uru", shore, and "kazi", breeze. Both words together are intended to evoke the tranquil and unspoilt character of the southern Japanese archipelago. The new roads show Zwift's interpretation of the landscape of these islands. But you can also drive on cobblestones, gravel and a new surface in the new expansion of the Zwift universe.

How do you get to Urukazi and what can you expect there?

There are three ways to get to Urukazi:

  1. Directly over a paddock,
  2. from Yumezi southwards through a canyon or
  3. From Neokyo, also heading south, the route leads through a cave system to Urukazi.
