New roads can now be travelled in Zwift. The update brings 19 new kilometres to Watopia, the world of Zwift e-cycling.

New routes can now be experienced on the world's largest digital cycling playground - the 19-kilometre Coastal Causeway is now included in the game thanks to the update. The new coastal route leads past natural and cultural wonders of Watopia that were previously inaccessible by bike. The south coast is very varied and offers beautiful views all over the island - almost like a winter training camp on an island, so to speak. The first new road since 2019 is set to take cyclists to new places and become a popular cycling destination.

Five different landscapes can be discovered and experienced on the south coast. The new routes are connected to the existing roads of Watopia. This means that more areas on the virtual island can be explored. The new coastal route connects the Fuego Flats with the Mayan Jungle. The route between these two parts of the island and the link to other popular roads such as the Epic KOM form some of the longest routes in all Zwift worlds. You can really rack up the kilometres here.

The new Zwift route: This way!

The end of the Southern Coast Road can be reached from the Fuego Flats. You pass the maritime fishing village of Googie Springs. From there, the route leads through the Evergreen Coast, a dense forest with a rocky coastline nearby. This attracts cyclists with inviting roadside attractions and friendly wildlife. Further along the road is the remote settlement of Ciudad La Cumbre. This is a colourful community at the foot of the Epic KOM, which can only be reached via a tunnel on both sides. Then you come to the settlement of Sandy Coast. The lively Mayan community can be found in the jungle of Watopia. Finally, you drive through the Mayan Passage, which connects the coastal route with the Mayan jungle at the south-western end of the new road.

The new, relatively flat route runs close to the coast. Four new sprint sections and eight new routes have been designed. Some of them use a combination of new and existing roads. These are the new routes in Watopia:

  1. Coast Crusher (34 kilometres and 172 metres in altitude)
  2. The Big Ring (48 kilometres and 268 metres in altitude)
  3. Accelerate to Elevate (41 kilometres and 1152 vertical metres with finish on the Alpe du Zwift)
  4. Shorelines and Summits (46 kilometres and 776 vertical metres including the Epic KOM)
  5. Sugar Cookie (33 kilometres and 250 vertical metres)
  6. Going Coastal (16 kilometres and 63 vertical metres)
  7. Temple Trek (6 kilometres and 25 metres in altitude)
  8. Canopies and Coastlines (22 kilometres and 124 metres in altitude)

With the Game version 1.51, which will be available to all Zwift users from today until Friday at the latestthe new expansion comes into play. The new roads can then be used during the fifth stage of the Tour of Watopia be driven. The start is on 30 October.
