The Tacx i-Genius indoor training device offers virtual training that is very close to the real riding experience
The i-Genios from Tacx promises one thing above all: a varied and entertaining indoor workout compared to pedalling in front of a white wall.

The virtual racing bike world on the screen even comes pretty close to the real one. On offer are classic climbs such as Mont Ventoux or Mortirolo, classics such as the Tour of Flanders, customised races against up to ten virtual opponents and even track competitions. GPS tours on Google Earth can also be ridden virtually for a fee. Paired with the Tacx Trainer Software 4 (Advanced), watt sensors in the brakes and the control unit on the handlebars, the i-Genios gives the cyclist the feeling of experiencing the route or the race profile live - only the wind is missing.

The package includes training programmes in which intensity, distance profile, wattage and time are freely adjustable, which also meets the requirements of amateur athletes who want to complete targeted and controlled build-up training on the roller. The roller brake provides up to 1,500 watts of resistance, while the solid and swivelling front wheel guide further enhances the realistic riding impression. Operation is easy to learn, and the hardware is of a high quality. The downside of the virtual training partner is the high purchase price of €1,400 plus €129 for the software, as well as the expensive track films, which cost between €35 and €65 extra. A rental system, as we know it from online media libraries, could be a smart and customer-friendly addition to the overall recommendable offer.

PLUS Almost real riding pleasure; variety of functions; high braking performance of the castor
MINUS Expensive films; GPS tours must be paid for separately
