The UCI has announced that the UCI Cycling Esports World Championships will no longer be organised by Zwift from 2024. The new organiser comes from Abu Dhabi and is called MyWhoosh.

MyWoosh World Cup instead of Zwift World Cup

The Esports Indoor World Championships, which were launched in 2020, were organised by the online platform Zwift until this year, in 2020, 2022 and 2023. Despite the successful cooperation, a change of organiser has been announced for the coming year. From 2024 to 2026, the indoor event will take place exclusively on the MyWoosh platform. The UCI would like to thank the previous organiser Zwift, which helped to establish the UCI Cycling Esports World Championships and thus increase the popularity of the event in the esports and cycling community.

MyWoosh's tasks will include organising the qualifying rounds and the final, which will take place in Abu Dhabi. More detailed information on the 2024 UCI Cycling Esports World Championships, including the dates, format and qualification system, will be announced in the near future.

Statements on the UCI Cycling Esports World Championships 2024

"We are delighted to welcome MyWhoosh as the new platform and organiser of the UCI Cycling Esports World Championships for the next three years and we are confident that they will continue to develop this exciting and popular event," said UCI President David Lappartient. He added that Abu Dhabi had confirmed its commitment to the field by planning to host further cycling events, as well as last year's successful UCI Urban Cycling World Championships. "The next three editions of the UCI Cycling Esports World Championships will further strengthen Abu Dhabi's reputation as a host of high-calibre cycling events," added Lappartient.

Akhtar Saeed Hashmi, Managing Director of MyWhoosh, said in a statement: "We are committed to transforming Abu Dhabi into a truly world-class cycling centre and look forward to providing athletes, fans and enthusiasts with an immersive experience that combines the excitement of esports with the spirit of cycling. This collaboration signifies a new era for MyWhoosh and the world of cycling esports, bringing all the benefits and excitement of cycling into homes around the world."
