The brake unit, in which a propeller rotates in an oil bath, also makes a good impression. The resistance increases progressively with increasing speed; the "Crono Power Fluid" therefore does not require a remote control to regulate the brakes. Instead, the resistance can be increased simply by changing gears.
The smooth ride impression, which comes reasonably close to that on the road, is fantastic. There is none of the jerkiness that is sometimes associated with devices with magnetic brakes. The high maximum braking power of 700 watts (gear ratio: 53/17 teeth) is also interesting and allows variable training through to intensive strength units. Thanks to the quick-release fastener, the bike is quickly locked in place and the trainer can be folded up compactly in one easy step.
Less convincing: the three-legged construction, which makes the "Crono Power Fluid" less stable. And: the frame is prone to twisting.
PLUSvery quiet; natural driving impression; high braking performance
MINUSsomewhat wobbly stand; frame warps slightly
Price: 269 Euro
