The smart Hammer H1 indoor trainer from Cycleops offers a solid riding experience, a convincing scope of delivery and is relatively quiet at top speed. All test results of the Cycleops Hammer in detail.

The heavyweight. The Hammer has the largest flywheel mass of all the power trainers, which you can feel when pedalling, and it also weighs the most. Subjectively, the ride feels very solid and less resonant than the Kickr. The heavier flywheel mass of the Hammer obviously manages with less speed and rolls out almost endlessly at low resistances. The initial volume is moderate and does not increase as quickly as with the other trainers as the speed increases. At top speed, the Hammer is comparatively quiet. The feet, which can be folded out wide, are clever, as they provide very stable support for the device and also allow it to be stored compactly in no time at all. Adapters for all axle types are included.

The wide control range of the brake allows you to set the speed to the desired range. The deviation of -6 per cent at 350 watts is somewhat disappointing - just within the manufacturer's specification, but 20 watts deviation in this range is a lot considering the comparatively high price. Cycleops does not have its own app; the Hammer is compatible with all common apps.
