After a two-year forced break, the TOUR Transalp will finally take place again from 19 to 25 June 2022. The anticipation among the participants and the organisers is growing rapidly. Seven days of spectacular mountain passes, breathtaking panoramas and powerful emotions await.

Over 15000 metres in altitude at the TOUR Transalp

Hundreds of racing cyclists have been taking on the challenge every year for almost two decades TOUR Transalp - the legendary multi-day race across the Alps. There are seven stages to complete on a road bike. This year, that's a total of 609 kilometres and 15860 metres in altitude that the endurance athletes have to cover between the start at Lake Reschen and the finish in Arco on Lake Garda. This means an enormous feat of strength, which is rewarded by unique panoramas and exuberant emotions.

For two years now, the racing bike scene has had to do without the popular racing bike classic due to the pandemic. But the wait will soon be over. On 19 June, the 18th edition of the TOUR Transalp kicks off at Lake Reschen. The first visual highlight for the athletes is already here: the church tower rising out of the lake against the mighty backdrop of the Ortler group.

Spectacular views

The list of highlights is long. But these unforgettable experiences require physical and mental effort. On the Stage 2 Your thighs will burn and your inner bastard will grumble as you pedal up the 48 hairpin bends to the notorious Stelvio Pass. At the same time, your eyes and soul are treated to the purest Mecca: the spectacular views, which take on a whole new charm with every hairpin bend, will leave you in awe. But not only the popular Alpine passes offer unforgettable impressions.

The TOUR Transalp 2022 also includes little-known mountain roads and so the less high, but no less spectacular Passo Vivione not only a fabulous backdrop, but also uncharted territory, as the TOUR Transalp has never visited the region between Lake Iseo and Bergamo before.

Great anticipation

After the long break, the celebratory mood will be high on every day of the TOUR Transalp 2022. Not only are the participants happy to finally be part of the seven-day road bike event again, but the organisers can hardly contain their joy. "Every TOUR Transalp is something very special that I always look forward to. But after two cancellations due to the pandemic, the euphoria this year is naturally extremely high," explains project manager Jan Leschinski happily. "The fact that all the preparations and the cooperation with the stage locations are working so well adds to the anticipation."

The mood is rising, the days are already being counted. So we can look forward to a great event with an exuberant atmosphere and unforgettable experiences.
