The 21st edition of the TOUR Transalp ended last weekend with a finale and a finisher's party on Lake Garda. The weather conditions were good throughout - there was only a little rain on the second day. From the third stage onwards, the sun shone over the field of participants - the queen stage on day 6 was a sweat-inducing affair. This year, the popular stage race for amateur cyclists led over 750 kilometres and 15,000 metres in altitude from Innsbruck to Riva del Garda. Around 650 racing bike enthusiasts from over 30 nations took part in the seven-day event. The participants ranged in age from 19 to 70. This year, an increasing number of women and solo riders took on the ride through the Alps. The newly introduced 3- and 4-day challenges were also well received and are to be repeated in 2026.

Participant quotes TOUR Transalp 2025

"It was like a dream - I really enjoyed it. You feel like a pro on a stage race like this and you know that I have to recover well after the race, because tomorrow it's on to the next stage. They were really great stages."
Lea-Sophie Rammert (27), Bielefeld, Team Plasmatreat - RTS Electronic 2

"I always wanted to ride the TOUR Transalp, but it was always difficult to find the right partner or to have the time. The fact that I was now able to ride for Team Q36.5 Racing Expedition and found a partner was great. Every day had its little highlight."
Carola Skarabela (44), Torri del Beneco (ITA)

"I'm really happy that I made it. I had a lot of respect and a year ago I wasn't sure if I could do it. I rode a little too fast for the first three days, but then I adjusted. Then I also did well on the queen stage."
Wolfgang Duckeck (65), Bremen

How do you like this article?

"I suffered so much on the Stelvio Pass and got emotional when it went downhill. That's the good thing about taking part in a race as a team: you cheer each other on. You can do it, follow my will. I've been on holiday near the Passo Motirolo and the Stelvio many times and I've never found the courage to suffer so much to ride the Mortirolo. I was always a bit scared of the climb. At the TOUR Transalp we said we would respect the mountain and ride in a very controlled manner and suddenly we enjoyed the Mortirolo, even though it was super steep and difficult."
John Kamphuis (42), Amsterdam (NLD), Team Service Koers

"This is the third time I've ridden the TOUR Transalp together with my team partner. We won last year, so the goal was clear. This year the competition was again very strong, but we are all the more pleased that it worked out again. It was the highlight of our season. Of course, you're often in tunnel vision because you have to perform. But there were a lot of impressions and many wonderful moments. The Stelvio - even though I've ridden up there several times as a South Tyrolean - is always breathtaking. It's a climb that is definitely one of the most beautiful on earth."

TOUR Transalp led over legendary Alpine passes

The route took the participants from Innsbruck via Imst, Pfunds, Bormio, Aprica, Darfo Boario Terme and Roncone to Riva del Garda. Route manager Marc Schneider has put together a "great mix of impressive passes and roads with a great cycling history". The highlight was the crossing of the Stelvio Pass at an altitude of 2757 metres - the highest asphalted mountain pass in Italy. Other challenging climbs included the Passo Mortirolo, the Passo Crocedomini and the Passo del Vivione, which was described as the "insider tip" of this year's Transalp.

Winning teams from Austria and Germany

Bianca Somavilla and Daniela Traxl-Pintarelli from Austria came out on top in the women's overall standings. The men's race was won by their compatriots Christian Oberngruber and Rene Pammer. The fastest mixed team was Michael and Janine Meyer from Germany. Detailed results are available online.
