Countless metres in altitude, breathtaking mountain panoramas and the indescribable feeling you get when you reach the finish line: The TOUR Transalp has a special place in the racing bike calendar of amateur cyclists. The individual riders have very different goals: Some are fighting for victory, while for others, being there is everything. The fact is, however, that everyone who completes the seven stages has mastered an incredible sporting challenge - both physically and mentally.
After the TOUR Transalp is before the TOUR Transalp. Europe's best-known and most popular cycling race for everyone traditionally takes place in summer. This year, the event celebrated its 20th anniversary. The registration phase for the 2024 Transalp has already begun. The riders will have to cover around 600 kilometres with around 15,000 metres in altitude. The exact route will be published in November.
There is only one requirement for the Everyman race: a minimum age of 18 years. Otherwise, everyone can decide whether they want to ride alone or in a team - with a partner of the same sex or mixed.
However, you shouldn't think too long because, firstly, places are limited and, secondly, the earlier you register, the cheaper it is to take part. There are three registration phases in total: The first one started on 01 October. This is when tickets are cheapest. The second phase begins on 1 December and the third on 1 January 2024. The later you register, the more expensive it gets.
However, there is good news for young participants: everyone under 23 pays a reduced price! And with the Explorer Days, cyclists for whom a 7-day stage race seems too long can also register. Even here you can choose between a one-day and a two-day programme.
As every year, the TOUR Transalp 2024 will once again take place in summer. From Sunday, 16 June to Saturday, 22 June, around 15,000 metres in altitude will be covered on a route of around 600 kilometres through the Alps (exact route information from November).
The Riders Experience is to be improved for next year. Among other things, there will once again be a comprehensive, professionally organised and implemented range of services relating to racing bikes and your own well-being. In addition, each stage will be accompanied by a team of 100 to 150 helpers who will ensure safety during the race.
