15,860 metres in altitude and 608 kilometres lie between the starting point of Lake Reschen and Arco. Compared to the average of previous years, the 2022 route requires around 2,000 metres less elevation gain and 200 kilometres less, giving more participants the chance to tackle the race.
The short opening stage from Lake Reschen to Zernez is ideal for switching from everyday to Transalp mode without stress and getting in the mood for the upcoming highlights. On the second day, 1,900 metres in altitude from Prad to the Stelvio Pass are already on the agenda. The steep Mortirolo also calls for bite and tenacity and is one of the legendary racing bike classics. A lesser-known highlight is the Goletto di Cadino on the sixth day with its spectacular panorama.
The TOUR Transalp 2022 promises ambitious racing cyclists postcard landscapes, breathtaking mountain passes and exhilarating descents.
