Australian adventurer Lachlan Morton cycled the historic Pony Express route from Missouri to California in six days, 21 hours and 15 minutes. He beat the 160-year-old record set by the Pony Express riders on horseback by 19 hours and 45 minutes. The 3,217-kilometre route passed through eight US states. Morton switched between three Cannondale models depending on the terrain. His brother Gus accompanied him in a support vehicle and documented the journey.
