Canyon Bicycles GmbH has officially announced the key points of the co-operation with Erik Zabel.
It was announced a few months ago that Zabel would be acting as an advertising ambassador for Canyon. "As a test rider, he will support Canyon's engineers and designers in the development of new models," reads the official announcement. Zabel is also a mentor for the "Canyon Young Heroes" initiative, which is dedicated to promoting young talent. As part of this initiative, his son Rick has already been riding a Canyon road bike for a year.
Zabel himself was given the Ultimate CF SLX "Ete 201", a 5.8-kilogram bike. It is equipped with the Campagnolo Super Record and lightweight wheels. But before Zabel takes to the road, there are still the laps on the track. At the six-day race in Berlin, he will be racing for victory with his partner Robert Bartko.
