Owners of all makes of bicycles can take part in the Retropedal in Rüsselsheim-Königstädten. Touring and racing bikes should be at least 30 years old. The following also applies to racing bikes: gears on the frame and no clipless pedals.
For touring bikes, there is a guided 25-kilometre ride through the region without any significant climbs. The organiser will provide refreshments along the way. Back at the finish, participants can look forward to various tests of skill, an award ceremony and a cosy get-together. Anyone who wants to can do a few laps on a penny-farthing bike free of charge under supervision.
For those who like it more sporty, the Retropedal offers signposted routes of between 45 and 150 kilometres. Free refreshments will also be available at all checkpoints. The entry fee of 12 euros includes a back number and a food voucher, which can be redeemed in the restaurant directly at the finish area.
If you don't yet have your own vintage bike, you can hire one for a small deposit. However, it is important to book early, as the number of bikes available for hire is limited.
