The Norwegian long-distance race Styrkeprøven celebrates its 50th edition in mid-June. Registration is already open.

The 540-kilometre ride between Trondheim and Oslo is one of the most famous stages in amateur cycling. Cyclists are tackling the route for the 50th time. While well-organised teams now cover the entire distance at an average speed of 40 km/h in around 13.5 hours, slower individual starters only reach the finish line after more than 30 hours.

The starting place over the 540 kilometre distance currently costs around 180 euros. It is also possible to tackle only parts of the route and start from Kvam, Lillehammer, Gjovik or Eidsvoll.
