The official motto of the 2011 Giro d'Italia is the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Italian state. From a sporting point of view, this year's tour is characterised by difficult mountain stages. The 94th Giro d'Italia takes place from 7 to 29 May 2011. Seven mountain finishes and a mountain time trial are on the programme during the 21 stages.
The tour begins on 7 May with a team time trial in Turin and ends on 29 May in Milan with a flat individual time trial.
As promised in TOUR 5/2011, you will find elevation profiles and an overview map of all stages here. They serve as a free supplement to our Giro preview in the print edition.
