The livestream of the Ötztaler Cycle Marathon

15 hours live with Toni Palzer

The Ötztaler Cycle Marathon can be watched live again in 2024. It starts at 06.15 am and the entire Ötztaler Cycle Marathon 2024 will be broadcast live for 15 hours until the last finisher. Stefan Steinacher and ORF presenter Karina Toth talk to many guests in the ÖRM TV studio in Sölden. Reporter Christoph Suman will be reporting live from the course. Professional cyclist Toni Palzer from Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe will be among this year's expert commentators.

4431 men and 400 women are registered for the 43rd Ötztaler Cycle Marathon. Those on site can join in the excitement, but also those at home: the race will be streamed live. The most important cycling marathon in the Alps is entering its 43rd edition. Officially 227 kilometres and 5500 metres in altitude have to be mastered. The broadcast will start at 06:15 (CET) and will not end until around 21:30 (CET).

Starting field with last year's winners

The 43rd Ötztaler Cycle Marathon will once again feature top-class athletes. Manuel Senni from Italy wants to defend his victory, while last year's second and third place finishers Alban Lakata (AUT) and Johnny Hoogerland (NED) are hoping for revenge. Also in the running are Canadian Jack Burke, winner in 2022, and Italian Stefano Cecchini, winner in 2017. Former and multiple world champion (UCI MTB Eliminator) Daniel Federspiel (AUT) will provide additional excitement. Other prominent names from the sport, such as former Austrian biathlete Dominik Landertinger, ex-ski racer Manfred Mölgg (ITA) and Hahnenkamm winner Thomas Dreßen (GER) round off the already strong field of participants. Here we report on the Hahnenkamm winner and his anticipation of the Ötztaler.

Defending women's champion Janine Meyer (GER) returns after not only winning the Ötztaler Cycle Marathon last year, but also setting a new women's record. Catherine Rossmann (GER), winner in 2022 and third place last year, is also back at the start and, like Christina Rausch (GER), who triumphed in 2019 and 2020, will once again be aiming for a podium finish.

Route Ötztaler Cycle Marathon 2024

The Ötztal Cycle Marathon has become a classic in the Alps thanks to its challenging route and professional organisation. The charming change of scenery, from valleys to high alpine terrain, contributes to the unique atmosphere. The four passes in particular - Kühtaisattel, Brenner Pass, Jaufen Pass and the final Timmelsjoch with 1724 metres of altitude difference in one go - are what make the race so appealing.
