Registration for the Vattenfall Cyclassics 2013 amateur race has been open since today. 22,000 starting places are for sale for the cycle race on 25 August 2013.

In addition to online registration at www.vattenfall-cyclassics.de mobile registration via smartphone is available for the first time at www.vattenfall-cyclassics.de/mobile possible. Conceptually, the 2013 edition combines the tried and tested with the new, promises the organiser's press release. For example, the anti-clockwise route of the southern loop, which was changed in 2011, will remain as well as the women's starting block. More than 300 female starters, especially novice cyclists, opted for this block in 2012.

Heike Wüst, cycling coach and wife of former world-class sprinter Marcel Wüst, will be contributing her theoretical and practical expertise on the subject of cycling for women at both cycling seminars and races.

The "Safer Cycling" programme, which was successfully established in 2012 under the aegis of Sports Director Erik Zabel, will also be expanded. At least 100 riders with cycling experience - including former professionals, amateurs and licensed riders - will accompany the race fields of the Jedermannrennen as so-called guides in appropriate jerseys.

The event can already boast one prominent commitment for the race: Daily newsreader Marc Bator, who has been a passionate amateur cyclist for years and a licenced cyclist since 2012.
