Corona made life difficult for the Bimbach cycling club for two years: after the event was cancelled in 2020, only a "light version" took place last year.
On 4 and 5 June, the RSC is once again expecting several thousand participants and visitors at the fairground on the Hädenberg: "The signs are good that we will once again have an event with a high turnout. We have already seen from the registration that everyone is keen to take part again. After just a few hours, all the starting places for the marathon were fully booked. That was already a record," said Frank Scheiber, 1st Chairman of the club, in a press release.
In addition to the usual festival activities, there will be a small bike fair on the festival grounds. The large meadow next to the marquee will once again be a large free campsite. The RSC Bimbach is not organising the cycling weekend with professional event agencies, but with its 140 or so members and their families and friends.
In addition to the approximately 2,000 registered marathon riders who will be sent into the Rhön on Sunday morning, the RSC is expecting around 4,000 participants on the RTF routes over the two days. Mountain bikers and gravel bikers will also get their money's worth: two new routes invite you to ride through the surrounding fields and forests. A mix of challenging passages and marvellous views can be expected here.
There is a film about the last event (2021) on YouTube:
