The retro cycling event L'Eroica is getting a Japanese spin-off: in 2013, cyclists are to cycle through the province of Yamanashi on historic racing bikes.
The premiere of L'Eroica Japan will take place 100 kilometres from Tokyo in May 2013. In Tuscany, L'Eroica organiser Furio Giannini and Aki Nakazawa from the Nixita Cultural Association signed a contract to this effect. The retro event is to take place at the end of the dry season and before the rainy season. The racing bike event is supported by Fiat Japan. "We want to promote trade relations with the event," explained Giannini.
The L'Eroica is a cycle tour in the Italian Chianti region, in which historic racing bikes (up to 1987) take centre stage. The starting places are limited to 3,000.
