28 May 2023 | L'Eroica Montalcino | ITA

There are now seven L'Eroica dates in Italy alone. The season opens with the event in Montalcino. Five different distances are on offer.

18 June 2023 | In Velo Veritas | AUT

In Velo Veritas is Austria's big classic bike meeting in the Weinviertel region, organised with heart and soul. The routes and venues change regularly - this year it is going to Mistelbach. The Saturday evening traditionally begins with a welcome party. On Sunday, the programme includes challenging routes and enjoyable catering. Racing bikes built up to 1987/88 and more recent classic-style replicas are permitted. There is a choice of the "Epic" route over 210 kilometres, the "Challenging" route over 140 kilometres or the "Enjoyable" route over 70 kilometres. Local restaurateurs offer regional food and drink at the refreshment stations.

25 June 2023 | Velowino

The small event used to be called Veloica, but had to change its name after the organisers of L'Eroica demanded a licence fee and threatened to take legal action otherwise. However, Velowino is not a commercial event: the proceeds go to charity. The historic old town centre of Weinheim on the Badische Bergstrasse is the starting point. Bicycles built before 1988 are permitted, with clothing that matches as closely as possible.

30 June - 2 July 2023 | Anjou Vélo | FRA

A perfectly organised vintage festival in the wine-growing region of Anjou in western France. In the tranquil town of Saumur, everything revolves around bicycles: a large market is held in front of the town hall and participants can pick up their race numbers at the concert stage. Cycling in style is the name of the game - in a relaxed manner. Everyone can interpret the love of the style of bygone times in their own way: whether sporty in a historic woollen jersey and on steel racers or in the French savoir-vivre style, dressed in knickerbockers, slouch hats, pretty dresses and with a picnic basket on a rickety bike from the barn. The atmosphere is relaxed and cheerful, the food is excellent. The Anjou region lies in the lower valley of the Loire, so the routes lead through vineyards to the region's most beautiful castles.

19 August 2023 | Historica

After a corona break, this event is to take place again in Leipzig. It could almost be described as an alternative to the thoroughly commercialised L'Eroica: The entry fee is a fraction and the rules are very relaxed. Historic bikes and clothing are welcome - but you can also take part with a modern bike.

26 - 27 August 2023 | Bergkönig | CH

"High-percentage vintage in the heart of Switzerland" is the new motto of the Bergkönig in Emmental. The starting point is the historic town of Burgdorf and no longer Gstaad. The love of classic bikes will continue to be celebrated - for example with an exhibition, parts market, riders' parade and three different routes for the bike ride. The organisers promise low-traffic routes of between 57 and 165 kilometres. Bikes built before 1994 or classic-style bikes are permitted.

8 - 10 September 2023 | Velo Classico

The organisers of the Mecklenburger Seen-Runde organise a small vintage festival around Rumpshagen Castle in autumn. Neither the dress code nor the rules for choosing a bike are particularly strict.

30 September - 1 October 2023 | L'Eroica | ITA

With so many L'Eroica dates, it's hard to keep track - but the event at the beginning of October is the mother of all L'Eroica events. Every autumn since 1997, the village of Gaoile has mutated into a centre and meeting point for classic car fans from all over the world. Bumpy and sometimes murderously steep, the light-coloured gravel roads ("Strade Bianche") lead through the vineyards of Chianti. The event is professionally organised and Gaoile is bursting at the seams. There are five routes to choose from. There you can see many perfectly restored classic racing bikes, authentic historical cycling clothing and beautifully restored racing service cars from earlier times.
