Preparation for the Ötztaler Cycle Marathon has to start earlier than ever before: for the first time, the race will take place in July. As a result, the registration process also starts earlier than usual: from 1 to 30 November you can pre-register for 5.9 euros. The draw for the 4000 starting places will take place in mid-December 2022. The entry fee for the Ötztaler is 169 euros.
Anyone who does not want to use an allocated starting place themselves can transfer it to another starter within a narrow time window (13 March - 7 April 2023) for a processing fee of 50 euros.
There is the option of individual registration, mini-group registration (2-4 people) and team registration (5-35 people). If the mini-group or team is drawn, all participants who have registered on this registration list are automatically included. Multiple registrations will be excluded from the draw. Anyone who has unsuccessfully registered for the Ötztaler Cycle Marathon in the last three years (2019, 2020, 2022) and has not received a starting place by other means will receive a special starting place when registering in 2023.
The 42nd edition of the Ötztaler will take place on 9 July 2023. Up to 4000 starters will be sent onto the course in Sölden. The climbs to Kühtai, Brenner, Jaufen and Timmelsjoch remain the hurdles on the way to the Ötztaler dream. As in 2022, the route will run around Sterzing to relieve traffic.
