47.2 kilometres around Lake Attersee on completely closed roads are the big plus point of the KOTL. On 16 September, the 13th edition of the ASVÖ King of the Lake will not only see individual starters take to the course, but also teams in the team time trial. The team time trials will be ridden on normal racing bikes - there will also be a classification for normal racing bikes in the individual time trial. The registration window is open from 7 to 23 April. After that, the coveted individual starting places, as well as those for teams of four, will be drawn from all registrations. However, it is important to note that the starting places for the teams of 10 will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
Who will be the king or queen of Lake Attersee? Around 1400 time trialists will roll off the start ramp in Schörfling in autumn. Riding the 47.2 kilometres around one of Austria's most beautiful lakes is unique, as is the chance to compete with real professionals. The 13th edition of the time trial is expected to be sold out again. The reason is simple: you won't find a time trial of this kind anywhere else in Europe.
The athletes set five course records in six classes in 2021, although these records were not broken in 2022 due to the weather conditions, but the upcoming edition could once again set new records around Lake Attersee. In addition to the "King of the Lake" powered by Specialized, the "Queen of the Lake" powered by Lenzing AG and the "Elite King" powered by Garmin, this year the youth will once again be competing for the "U23 King of the Lake" powered by Raiffeisen and the "U23 Queen of the Lake". In the team rankings, there could be pulverised records in the 4-man team time trial powered by Autohaus Eder and Volkswagen as well as in the 10-man team time trial.
Online registration, which starts on 7 April, will run for 17 days, after which the starting places (individual and 4-man teams) will be drawn from the collected registrations.
The registration fee of three euros per person collected in this online raffle will go to the Upper Austrian Red Cross Vöcklabruck. As a partner, the Red Cross ensures safety during the race.
