Anyone who has got a starting place for the Ötztaler can set off on the well-known route on 28 August 2022, covering an official 227 kilometres and 5,500 metres in altitude. The usual route via Kühtai, Brenner Pass, Jaufen Pass and the Timmelsjoch is planned.
At the six refreshment stations, a total of 10,000 bananas, 18 crates of apples, 500 melons, 12,000 Powerbar gels and 12,000 Powerbar bars, 12,500 loaves of bread, 1,600 kg of pasta and 9,000 pieces of cake made by Sölden housewives are available to participants!
Start in Sölden. Mostly downhill to Oetz (820 m). Then up to Kühtai (2,020 m). Descent to Kematen and on towards Innsbruck (600 m). Uphill to the Brenner Pass (1,377 m). Take a short breather and descend to Sterzing (960 m). Turn right and take a nice steady climb up to the Jaufenpass (2,090 m). Descend carefully to St. Leonhard in the Passeier Valley (750 m) and then the grand finale to the Timmelsjoch (2,474 m). Dream destination: Sölden (1,377 m)
