8000 starting places are on offer for the upcoming Maratona. The distribution of participants follows the usual pattern: 50 per cent from Italy and 50 per cent from abroad. Pre-registration for the Maratona dles Dolomites runs from 12 October to 2 November. All pre-registered participants will be entered into the draw for starting places, which will take place in the second half of November 2022.
Alternatively, from 12 October, packages consisting of hotel accommodation and a starting place will be available via the official tour operator Holimites www.holimites.com can buy immediately.
On Tuesday, 22 November 2022 and Wednesday, 22 March 2023, there will also be the opportunity to purchase individual starting places, which are linked to a donation for charity. Registration: https://www.maratona.it/de/
Three routes for the Maratona dles Dolomites 2023
As in previous years, there are three routes for the Maratona dles Dolomites cycling marathon:
- The Maratona route: 138 km with a difference in altitude of 4230 metres
- The average route: 106 km with a difference in altitude of 3130 metres
- The Sella tour: 55 km with a difference in altitude of 1780 metres
All routes are completely closed to traffic. The Dolomite passes Pordoi, Sella, Gardena, Campolongo, Falzarego, Giau and Valparola are open to traffic.
Car-free cycling days in Alta Badia
As an alternative to the Maratona dles Dolomites-Enel, Alta Badia offers three more days on which the road is reserved for cyclists: The Sellaronda Bike Day will start on 10 June 2023 and will be repeated on Saturday, 16 September 2023. The Dolomites Bike Day will take place on 24 June 2023.
On Sellaronda Bike Day, the Dolomite passes Passo Gardena, Sella, Pordoi and Campolongo and on Dolomites Bike Day the passes Campolongo, Falzarego and Valparola will be closed to car traffic between 08:30 and 16:00. Info: www.altabadia.org
