The Italian racing bike manufacturer Pinarello has warned against counterfeiting its products. Counterfeit carbon bikes have appeared in online shops, particularly in Asia.
Among others, the Pinarello Dogma and Prince are copied. Externally, they are almost indistinguishable, but the frames are made from poor quality carbon fibre. "Customers should look for the code number under the bottom bracket. You can also recognise a fake by the shoddy workmanship," Nicola Pinarello told TOUR.
