The Orbit360 cosmos now consists of three pillars:
It's hard to imagine the German cycling scene without the Orbit360 racing format. Raphael Albrecht, the brains behind the project, not only hit the nerve of the times with the idea, but also characterised a large number of new cycling events. Thanks to the Orbit360 idea, together with a handful of faces from the German gravel scene, cyclists were able to experience the bike community even during the pandemic. And that's exactly what it's all about. That's why the focus is shifting from rankings to togetherness. "We are now focussing more on togetherness instead of rankings. Because in recent years, the idea of adventure and community has become more and more important for many participants," says Raphael Albrecht.
Over 25,000 euros were raised last year with the #rideFAR fundraising event and passed on to charitable, bike-related projects. Orbit360's big goal for 2023 is to raise the To finance the construction of a school in East Africa. 50,000 euros are needed for this. The organiser is working closely with the Reiner Meutsch Foundation to achieve this.
Incidentally, not only the proceeds from the #rideFAR Challenge will flow into the project, but also donation-based income from the Gravel Series.
New focus, new partners. Not everything is new at Orbit360. Komoot and Craft have supported the idea since the very beginning. New additions are Rose Bikes, Sram and Zipp. This means that the events can now be offered with a donation-based participation mode. A step towards building schools in East Africa.
