The Nova Eroica Prosecco Hills enters its fourth round in 2025. From 25 to 27 April, gravel bikers will meet in the UNESCO World Heritage region of Conegliano Valdobbiadene to explore the hilly landscape together. The three-day event combines sporting challenges on the gravel bike with a supporting programme. The Epic Route, a route of more than 200 kilometres over the hills and forests of the region, is a new addition. The start is at sunrise on Saturday and the number of participants is limited to 100.
The organisers are offering four routes, all of which start and finish at the Borgoluce winery in Susegana. The shortest option is the 55-kilometre Corto route, which is ideal for a relaxed start to the event. More ambitious participants can choose between the 90-kilometre Medio route and the 120-kilometre Lungo variant. Both routes of the Nova Eroica offer timekeeping and lead over the well-known climbs of the Prosecco hills. The new Epic route, which is over 200 kilometres long, represents the greatest challenge and is aimed at experienced endurance cyclists.
The Family Day is on the programme for Friday, 25 April. Guided tours, creative workshops and hands-on activities will provide entertainment. One of the highlights will be the "Great Pig-nic", a barbecue in the vineyards. From 6 pm, there will be live music and the opportunity to enjoy a Negroni at sunset. Saturday begins early with the start of the Epic Route at sunrise. During the day, visitors can take part in yoga classes, visit farms and taste Prosecco Superiore. Talks on topics such as travel, cycling and the region round off the programme. In the evening, the band I Los Massadores will perform, accompanied by a dinner with local specialities and a spit roast. Sunday is dedicated to the Nova Eroica rides with the Gravelbike. Culinary stops with regional specialities and Prosecco Superiore Conegliano Valdobbiadene will be set up along the routes. Yoga classes, guided tastings and children's activities will also be organised.
Lodovico Giustiniani, President of the Organising Committee, emphasises the importance of the event: "The NOVA Eroica has become an important event for the entire region. It is an opportunity to celebrate the beauty of the Prosecco Hills and emphasise their special role as a destination for cycling enthusiasts." Giancarlo Brocci, founder of the Eroica, adds: "This is where sport, community, pleasure and joie de vivre come together. You ride with full commitment and enjoy it all the more." The Nova Eroica Prosecco Hills is supported by the Veneto Region, the Association for the Protection of the World Heritage of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, the Prosecco DOC Protection Consortium and Confagricoltura Treviso.
