The event offers four routes between 42.9 and 131 kilometres on the white gravel roads of Tuscany. The Epic Route covers 290 kilometres and 5,500 metres in altitude. The three-day festival transforms the medieval village into a centre of cycling culture with music and encounters.

Since 2016, the NOVA Eroica has been offering a ride on modern bikes along the Strade Bianche in Tuscany. The tenth edition takes place in spring for the first time and leads through the Val d'Orcia, which appears in lush green after the winter. The philosophy follows three words: Race, Ride, Relax. Participants can compete on timed sections or relax and enjoy the landscape of the Tuscan hills.

NOVA Eroica leads through Tuscany

The event offers two competition routes and two tourist routes. The long Terre di Siena route measures 131 kilometres with 1,990 metres of elevation gain and five timed sections. The medium Crete Senesi route covers 95.7 kilometres, 1,410 metres in altitude and three timed sections. The Val d'Arbia tourist route covers 67 kilometres and 970 metres in altitude. The shortest route, Ombrone and Arbia, measures 42.9 kilometres with an elevation gain of 500 metres. All routes lead through the Crete Senesi, the vineyards of Chianti and the hills of the Val d'Orcia.

Epic Route with 290 kilometres

The Epic Route is now in its third edition and represents the longest challenge. The route measures 290 kilometres with 5,500 metres of elevation gain along the white gravel roads of Tuscany. Typical Tuscan refreshment stops are a trademark of L'Eroica and combine physical exertion with regional specialities.

NOVA Eroica with festival in Buonconvento

For three days, the medieval village of Buonconvento is transformed into a festival of cycling culture. Meetings, music and activities enliven the squares and alleyways of the old town centre. The organisers place particular emphasis on young people and schools in the region. The routes run through 17 municipalities along the permanent routes of L'Eroica and Eroica Montalcino. The event is part of the Eroica per l'ambiente project and the Terra Eroica initiatives, which are committed to the protection of the Strade Bianche gravel roads and sustainable development.
