"The new situation surrounding the amendment to the Federal Infection Protection Act now leaves no room for manoeuvre," reads a press release. The original plan was to test all participants and thus make the event possible. However, the organiser no longer expects approval after the currently planned "Corona emergency brake" and announces the cancellation.
By the time of the cancellation, almost 1,200 cyclists from all over Germany had registered for the various distances of the event originally planned for 30 May.
Next year, the major sporting event will take place on 22 May 2022. It will once again feature races for everyone over 60 and 100 kilometres, junior races over various distances and a cycling marathon over 300 kilometres.
