New cycle race in Tuscany: Nova Eroica 2017 - Eroica discovers modern racing bikes

Nova Eroica is a competition for modern racing bikes on the famous Strade Bianche. It is aimed at riders of different abilities, which is why timekeeping only takes place on short sections. Only the fastest 150 riders can turn onto the final loop of the 206-kilometre route after 150 kilometres and fight for victory. There is also a team classification for groups. The unusual race kicks off on 30 April in Buonconvento.

The Eroica event in Tuscany celebrated its 20th anniversary last year and there are now Eroica events on every continent around the world. The 2017 race calendar includes ten events worldwide: The season starts in South Africa and continues with California, Italy, Japan, Spain, Great Britain, Holland, Italy again and, last but not least, the original race in Gaiole in Chianti in October.
