The 2018 L'Étape du Tour in the French Alps covers 169 kilometres and 4,017 metres in altitude. The starting shot is fired on the shores of Lac d'Annecy and initially offers 40 kilometres to roll in. The climb to the Col de la Croix Fry is the first obstacle of the day. After a short descent, the demanding climb to Glières begins - almost 2 kilometres of natural road and 6 kilometres of ascent with a gradient of over 11 per cent challenge the starters. In the finale, the participants climb the Col de la Colombière and are rewarded with a descent to the finish at the ski station of Le Grand-Bornand.
Until 17 December, the starting place costs 109 euros, from this day onwards the price rises to 139 euros. Info: at www.asochallenges.com/de
