Registration for the 3rd edition of the Kitzbühel Cycle Marathon starts on 1 October 2022. The race will take place on the previous Ötztaler weekend.

The third edition of the Kitzbühel Cycle Marathon (KRM) will take place on 27 August 2023. This means that the KRM will take over the traditional date of the Ötztal Cycle Marathon on the last weekend in August. This was made possible by the Displacement of the Ötztaler into July.

One marathon, two goals

The route will remain the same in 2023, but a second finish will be added. In future, starters will be able to choose which finish they want to experience. In addition to the finish at the Kitzbüheler Horn, there will be a shorter variant from next year with the finish in the centre of Kitzbühel. The "KRM Kitz" route has been shortened from 216 to 209 kilometres and, above all, saves the metres in altitude of the strenuous final ascent to the Kitzbüheler Horn.

"Not all participants want to take on the challenge of the Kitzbüheler Horn. Because, as we all know, the ascent is really steep!" explains Mayor Dr Klaus Winkler.

All finishers of the "KRM Classic" on the Kitzbüheler Horn will receive the coveted finisher jersey and, from 2023, a new finisher medal. All finishers of the "KRM Kitz" with start and finish in the Vorderstadt receive a finisher shirt and a medal.
