A three-day stage race without changing locations - that is the recipe for success of the RiderMan. The race is part of the German Cycling Cup and is entering its 24th round. From 6 to 8 September 2024, riders will once again be battling for seconds in Bad Dürrheim in the Black Forest. It is not only possible to start in the stage race, but also on the day.
Over 1000 amateur cyclists are expected to take part this year. Jan Ullrich has signed up for the road race on Sunday. In this context, the Jan Ullrich Cycling Museum, which opened at the end of May, will be open with extended opening hours throughout the race weekend. Just a few days ago, Ullrich explained in a WDR programme what cycling means to him today and how proud he is of his children, to whom he has passed on his passion for cycling.
The motto "Ride like a Pro" once again runs through all three stages of the RiderMan 2024. The 15.8-kilometre time trial route on Friday from Bad Dürrheim to Oberbaldingen and back remains unchanged. The challenging queen stage over 117 kilometres and almost 1500 metres in altitude on Saturday has been significantly adapted at short notice due to roadworks and passages that are no longer rideable due to landslides and will lead through Geisinger district for the first time. The route for the third and final stage on Sunday, covering 94 kilometres and almost 1100 metres in altitude, has also been adapted, although the attractive climb from Talheim to Öfingen will once again be part of the race programme.
Organiser Rik Sauser is delighted with the good registration figures and proudly announces that the RiderMan is once again part of the national "German Cycling Cup" and is the penultimate stop for all cyclists. Pre-registration for the RiderMan is still possible online at www.riderman.de up to and including Friday, 30 August 2024. Short-term late registration places are also available on site on the race weekend.
Another recurring highlight is the women and juniors of the "Müller - Die lila Logistik Rad-Bundesliga" with their three final stages as part of the RiderMan. The Bundesliga athletes will also have to prove their skills on the challenging courses of the two road races.
Visitors can also follow the RiderMan 2024 on Saturday and Sunday via live stream on the internet or on site on the large LED screen in the start/finish area on Salinenstraße. There, they can also be spoilt by the "Hegians" and "Kur und Bäder GmbH" from Bad Dürrheim. A visit to the RiderMan is therefore also worthwhile for spectators and accompanying persons.
