Alpine flowers have adorned the finisher jersey at the Ötztal Cycle Marathon for three years now. The trilogy started with the queen of Alpine flowers, the edelweiss. The mountain gentian followed in 2013, before a finisher jersey with the alpine rose will follow on Sunday, 31 August 2014.

Jan Ullrich is currently in Sölden to prepare for the Peak to Creek multi-sport competition (www.peaktocreek.at) to prepare. He spontaneously agreed to present the 2014 jersey and said: "The preparations for this cult marathon are going really well, I'm aiming for a time of around eight hours."

Around 14,000 cyclists from 40 nations have marked Wednesday 7 May in red in their calendars. On this day, the second and final draw for one of the coveted starting places took place, which became available because after the first draw, some of the cyclists who were allocated a starting place in March had missed their deadline for paying the entry fee. In this draw, around 500 starting places were raffled off again and the deadline for paying the €129 entry fee is 16 May 2014.
