Ex-professional Jan Ullrich is getting his own racing bike event: the Jan Ullrich Cycling Festival will premiere on 17 and 18 May 2025. On offer is a ride without timekeeping on a circuit. But the entry fee is steep.

The first Jan Ullrich Cycling Festival will open in Bad Dürrheim in the Black Forest on 17 May. The event is being organised by Rik Sauser and his Sauser Event GmbH in collaboration with Ullrich. According to the press release, the festival promises "sporting passion, an experience of nature and socialising."

The two-day festival begins on Saturday with a kids' race and a party. In addition to Ullrich, guests from the worlds of sport, business and culture are expected in the evening. Tickets will be available from 15 February 2025.

Sunday is dedicated to a joint bike tour with "Ulle", which takes place on a 28.8-kilometre circuit around Bad Dürrheim. The course can be completed up to four times, "depending on the individual preferences of the participants". The focus is not on speed or rankings, but on having fun together. In addition, all participants will receive an event jersey, which will be handed out at the start number distribution. Catering will be provided both during the Cycling Tour and in the finish area, where "regional specialities" will be on offer. The Jan Ullrich Cycling Museum, which opened in May 2024, will also be open to the public on the weekend of the event. Entry is included in the entry fee for all registered participants.

Cycling tour has its price

The pricing for the Jan Ullrich Cycling Festival is dynamic: the entry fee for the Cycling Tour on Sunday starts at "a limited early bird price from 199 euros". There are 250 places available in this price range. The next 250 places cost 249 euros and then rise to 299 euros. The price includes a jersey, catering and the tour on Sunday. The "VIP evening" on Saturday must be booked separately.

Background Jan Ullrich Cycling Museum

The temporary museum in the Haus des Gastes offers an insight into the life and career of Jan Ullrich, who to this day is the only German to have won the Tour de France in 1997. The museum offers a collection of memorabilia, including bicycles, jerseys, trophies, photos and personal items belonging to Jan Ullrich. It is open from Friday to Sunday.
