The first Ironman 70.3 Zell am See/Kaprun will take place on 26 August 2012. It is the second Austrian competition in the Ironman 70.3 world series.
The athletes swim in Lake Zell, the bike course then leads on two laps around the lake and into the neighbouring villages before the run leads directly along the shore to the finish line. 1.9 kilometres of swimming, 90 kilometres of cycling and 21.1 kilometres of running make up the programme of the Ironman 70.3. The province of Salzburg hopes that the event will have a high advertising value and contributes 100,000 euros to the organisational costs each year.
Participation costs 210 euros for individual starters and 231 euros for relay teams.
