The hobby races that take place as part of the Sparkassen Münsterland Giro on 3 October are known as the LeezenCup. Five weeks before the date of the event, the starting numbers have all been allocated. With 7500 starting places allocated, the organisers have set a new record. The event offers three different route options, all of which start at the historic Prinzipalmarkt in Münster and finish in front of Münster Castle. The shortest route, the Sparkasse Münsterland Ost Cup, covers 65 kilometres and, according to the organisers, is aimed at beginners and leisure cyclists. The medium distance, the 95-kilometre Provinzial Versicherung Cup, has established itself as the most popular option with more than 3,000 registrations. The 125-kilometre LBS Cup is available for ambitious cyclists. All routes take place on closed and safe roads through the Münsterland region.
The organisers are providing extensive information to help you prepare for the LeezenCup. Interested participants can access detailed route maps and GPX files of all three routes on the official website of the Münsterland Giro (www.muensterland-giro.de). These materials are intended to enable targeted training in the remaining weeks until the event. The route through the Münsterland offers characteristic landscape impressions of the region. According to the organisers, the finish against the backdrop of Münster Castle is particularly emotional and represents the highlight of the day for all participants.
As a special campaign, the organisers of the Sparkassen Münsterland Giro is organising a prize draw together with bike manufacturer ROSE Bikes. A ROSE Reveal AL 105 Di2 racing bike will be raffled off among all 7500 registered participants. This model has an aluminium frame and is equipped with the electronic Shimano 105 Di2 shifting group.
The Sparkassen Münsterland Giro starts in Stromberg (Oelde) on 3 October. The 191-kilometre route leads through the districts of Warendorf and Steinfurt to Münster Castle. In between, there is an undulating first half and a fast second half. Since the premiere in 2006, five current WorldTour teams have entered the list of winners of the Sparkassen Münsterland Giro. These teams have already confirmed their participation for 3 October 2025. This heralds one of the most high-class starting fields in the history of the race.
