The premiere of the Giro della Sicilia will take place from 27 April to 3 May 2018. Five stages will start from a fixed location.
The Giro delle Dolomiti gave the members of the ASD GS Mediterraneo the idea of organising their own race for amateur cyclists. The premiere with at least 200 starters is planned for 2018. As with the Giro delle Dolomiti, the stages always start from the same place and the time is only measured on individual sections.
Five stages start from Pollina into the mountains of the hinterland. The first four stages are between 120 and 150 kilometres long - on the last day there is a mountain time trial over 11 kilometres. The entry fee is currently 280 euros and the all-inclusive package with accommodation is available from 750 euros. Starters without a valid racing licence must have a medical certificate submit.
