Elbspitze 2011 almost fully booked
More than three quarters of the starting places for the Elbspitze 2011 have been allocated.

Over three quarters of the starting places for the Elbspitze 2011 have been allocated. 32 participants have already registered for the third edition of the extreme tour.

On 1 and 2 July 2011, the non-stop bike ride will take you through the Ore Mountains, the Czech Republic, the Bohemian and Bavarian Forests, Bavaria, Austria and Italy. The finish after 740 kilometres and 10,700 metres in altitude will be over the Jaufen Pass to the Timmelsjoch. The start is traditionally at the Frauenkirche in Dresden. The 27-year-old Birte Martin from Heide in Schleswig Holstein will be the first woman to attempt to finish at the top of the Elbe.

Registrations are normally possible until 31 March 2011. However, the organisers expect the remaining eight starting places to be filled in the next few weeks.
