The 70-kilometre, fully closed-off course will finally be open to everyone again. A new feature this year is the 35-kilometre-long course, which - unlike in previous years - has to be completed twice. "Due to considerable construction work, we are forced to take a shorter circuit, which is just as varied and fast as the old route," says project manager Hannes Hildebrandt in the official press release. Without any major technical difficulties, the HeideGravel will cover 30 and 50 kilometres through the Dahlen Heath.
Together with the Leipzig bike shop Bike Department Ost, there will be a track test in advance on the gravel track. The supporting programme includes the Fette Reifen KidsCup and the AOK PLUS Family Tour.
At the finish, each finisher receives separately packaged snacks and drinks in the self-service area. There are even showers and changing facilities available.
