Cycle Marathon Germany: Dates in June 2026

The cycling clubs organised in the German Cycling Association offer events throughout the year. A cycle marathon in Germany is at least 200 kilometres long and takes place on public roads. The route is signposted - there is usually also a GPX file to download. There is no timekeeping, but there are refreshment stations along the route.

In addition to the marathon distance, the events in the Cycling Marathon Cup Germany all offer shorter routes. Some even offer laps for gravel bikes.

06.06.2026 | ERZTALER Marathon | Radteam Tharandter Wald | SAC

The ERZTALER takes place on 6 June 2026 in Kurort Hartha and is a cycling event for sporty marathon starters, touring cyclists, off-roaders and children alike. The various routes (20 km to 230 km) run through the beautiful, hilly landscape of the Eastern Erzgebirge from the Tharandt Forest to the Erzgebirge ridge and back to Kurort Hartha. The marathon and RTF routes run on public, mostly less frequented roads and are fully signposted, while the off-road routes mostly lead along forest and field paths with some easy single-trail sections. As part of the ERZTALER Marathon, the 30th Small Peace Ride will also take place, giving young cyclists and young hobby cyclists the opportunity to compete against their peers in front of a large audience.

07.06.2026 | Heidemarathon | RTC Altwarmbüchen | NDS

The Heidemarathon of the RTC Altwarmbüchen takes place in Altwarmbüchen; the start is at 8:00 am at the school centre, and there are five different routes to choose from, so that everyone can start according to their form. In addition to the classic RTF distances (51-78-115 and 156 km), the 223 km marathon route is also on offer. The event is characterised by five well-equipped refreshment stations with highly motivated helpers along the way and a low-traffic course.

07.06.2026 | Westerwald Bike Challenge | RSC Buchholz | RLP

The Westerwald Bike Challenge is part of the German Cycling Cycle Marathon Cup for the first time. The start and finish are at the Heimathaus Buchholz (Alte Schule 1, 53567 Buchholz). The event is open to everyone - all bicycles and e-bikes up to 25 km/h permitted by the StVO are allowed.

14.06.2026 | MyEifelRide - Marathon | RSC Eifelland Mayen | RLP

After 40 years of experience with the classic "Eifellandrundfahrt", the RSC Eifelland Mayen has launched the two-day "MyEifelRide" festival, which offers a colourful mix of challenging road and gravel routes through the typical landscape of the Volcanic Eifel over two days in June. The hilly Eastern Eifel and the Ulmener Jungfernweiher pond are explored by gravel bike, while the Moselle and its numerous panoramic roads amidst the famous vineyards are particularly enticing on the road. In addition to the routes on offer, there is an extensive supporting programme for sporty kids and families. In 2026, the third edition of MyEifelRide will take place on the second weekend in June.

21.06.2026 | Cycling marathon "Zu den Löwensteiner Bergen" | RSV Victoria Rot | BAD

With the cycling marathon "Zu den Löwensteiner Bergen" (200 km) on 21 June 2026, RSV Victoria Rot 1912 e.V. will be represented for the first time as organiser of the German Cycling Cycling Marathon Cup 2026. The route, designed for racing bikes, is a climbing test and takes cyclists from the Kraichgau region into the challenging, hilly climbs of the Swabian-Franconian Forest Nature Park. In addition to the Kraichgau, Stromberg, Heuchelberg and the Löwenstein mountains await on the longer routes; the cycle marathon covers an altitude difference of around 2,600 metres. The start and finish location is the Parkring sports centre in St. Leon-Rot, approx. 20 km south of Heidelberg.

21.06.2026 | Jura Cycle Marathon | SV Lupburg | BAY

The market town of Lupburg in the Upper Palatinate district of Neumarkt i.d.OPf. has been the venue for the popular Jura Cycle Marathon for over 20 years; a total of 11 performance-graded routes are on offer - both on the road and off-road, as well as a gravel bike route. Every year, the starting places for the Jura Cycle Marathon are snapped up with unprecedented speed, so the anticipation is correspondingly high if you manage to get one of the coveted places. The popular cycling event in Lupburg is known far beyond the boundaries of the district of Neumarkt i.d.OP. for its charm and extremely informal atmosphere. The region around the route is known for its striking limestone cliffs and deep green valleys.

21.06.2026 | Bike Challenge Mittelholstein | RSG Centre Nortorf | SCH

The Bike Challenge Mittelholstein will take place on 21 June 2026 and is once again part of the German Cycling Marathon Cup. As part of its Bike Challenge, RSG Mittelpunkt Nortorf is offering routes for road cyclists from 25 km to 201 km and for gravel cyclists from 47 km to 108 km. The entire event is the kick-off for STADTRADELN in Nortorf; the start is in the centre of Nortorf's market square, where there will also be live music after the tour. Along the way, two catering depots in Aukrug and Kellinghusen will provide refreshments for the participants.
