Andreas Beseler has set off on his four-week cycle tour through the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The route will take him over 3,000 kilometres from Whitehorse to Vancouver in daily stages averaging 200 kilometres in length. Always assuming that his state of health allows for this extreme effort on the road bike. With this project, he collects donations for every kilometre ridden through the "Cent-o-KMeter" campaign. All proceeds go to the Nathalie Todenhöfer Foundation for MS patients in need.
When Andreas Beseler was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1992, he seemed destined for a life in a wheelchair. But he took up the fight against this disease with remarkable courage. He discovered that active exercise on a bike helped to reduce the symptoms of the disease.
His aim is to help. But, with this campaign, he also wants to encourage those affected not to give up and, despite the serious illness, to master life and maintain their zest for life. Storck Bicycle is supporting him with racing bikes for this tour.
Andreas Beseler is accompanied by a German and, at times, a Canadian camera team.
